What drives this price
Albion's Gold Exchange is a pure supply-and-demand pool: Gold enters when players buy it from Sandbox Interactive with real money, Silver enters when players sell Gold for Silver. The rate simply tracks whichever side has more volume at any moment — the same mechanics as a currency exchange.
The visible pattern in the daily series is seasonal. Big patches and content releases pull players back and raise Gold demand (rate falls); the weeks between content drops see the reverse. Server merges, seasonal resets, and the economy's silver sinks all ripple through the rate as well.
One honest caveat: this series comes from the community-run Albion Online Data Project, not Sandbox Interactive, and covers the Europe server only — see the methodology page for the full disclosure.
